   Proposal Description:
   Crary and others have recently proposed the existence of a new disorder - Primary Age-Related Tauopathy. I wish to test this hypothesis. To do this, I will compare 3 statistical models: (1) a 'simple' model of clinico-pathological correlation that treats both plaque and tangle pathologies as equivalent indices of Alzheimer's disease (2) a model that treats plaque and tangle pathologies as separate indices (3) a mixture model that allows the possibility of clusters of plaque and tangle pathologies. If PART exists, then the mixture model should fit the data best.
